In Greek mythology , Musai or Muse ( Greek : Μοῦσᾰ - Moses , plural: Μοῦσαι - Musai) are a group of goddesses who represent art . They are considered as sources of knowledge and inspiration of art. Initially there were three people in the further development of Musai but the number increased to nine.
Musai was the son of Zeus and Mnemosine . Musai born after Zeus slept with Mnemosyne for nine nights in a row. They are the goddess of music, song, and dance. Their music can provide happiness for a hearing. Musai each have their own specialties.
