Adele (also spelled Adèle, or Adelle) is a female given name of European origin used in English, French, German and Italian with a meaning of noble, kind, and tender.[1] It should not be confused with the male Arabic name Adel, which has a different pronunciation, although rarely Adele may be spelled without the "e" on the end, as with Adel Rootstein.
